New World Angels Announces Selection of Ron Tarro as President
BOCA RATON, FL (February 2, 2022) – New World Angels (NWA) (www.newworldangels.com), Florida’s premier structured angel investment group, announced today that Ron Tarro has been named its President effective today. Mr. Tarro, who has been Vice-President (Screening & Selection) for the last two years, succeeds Steve O’Hara, who has served as President for the prior six years. Mr. O’Hara becomes NWA Chairman, succeeding Rhys L. Williams, who remains on the board as Chairman Emeritus/Co-founder. In one other appointment, David Mednick was appointed NWA Treasurer, succeeding Bob Williamson.
Ron Tarro brings experience to New World Angels from “both sides of the table”. His career has spanned software engineering, product management, executive management, CEO, strategy consulting and most recently early-stage venture capital investing across the information technology industry. Ron led his own early-stage telecommunications software company to international growth and to a successful public company exit. Ron is widely respected by early-stage technology company founders and by startup incubators for his mentorship, and by investors for his operating insight in support of their portfolio companies. He merges the sensibilities of a technologist, entrepreneur, and an investor.
In-coming NWA Chairman Steve O’Hara commented, “In 2018-19 NWA conducted a succession planning process to ensure the long-term vitality of the organization. Subsequent to that process, Ron Tarro was identified as a future leader. Since then, Ron has undertaken multiple roles as a VP, Director, and head of screening. He comes into the presidency of a robust organization that has significantly built out its processes, staff, infrastructure, and membership over the past six years. I am confident that Ron will continue to build this important Florida-serving institution and will lead this great team to new heights.”
