New World Angels invests in Series A Preferred Stock of Qure4u, Inc.
Brings NWA’s first half, 2018 investment total to $3.3MM into five companies
BOCA RATON, FL (June 21, 2018) – New World Angels (NWA) (www.newworldangels.com) Florida’s premier structured angel investment group, announced today an investment in Bradenton Florida based Qure4u, Inc. (www.qure4u.com)
This is NWA’s fifth investment for the first half of 2018, bringing total NWA investments for the first six months of 2018 to $3,265,000. NWA participated in the investment with Louisiana Fund II and members of the Atlanta Technology Angels, leading a $750,000 Series A Preferred round with an investment of $435,000.
Qure4u, led by Dr. Monica Bolbjerg as CEO and Torsten Bolbjerg as CFO, is a patient engagement platform that automates patient and doctor communication before and after procedures, integrating with the patient’s electronic health record (EHR). By automating standard procedures and communications with the patient’s cell phone, Qure4u helps insure compliance with medical directions from their physicians improving patient outcomes while reducing the time and cost for the physicians.
Commenting on the Qure4u investment, NWA vice-president Jon Cole, who co-led the due diligence team with Dr. Dick Yules, stated, “Monica and Torsten’s success in Denmark with a predecessor product and their commitment to build out an improved and scalable product in the USA is exciting. Monica’s medical background combined with Torsten’s years of business experience at KPMG provide the perfect blend for a medical software product. We are delighted to join with Louisiana Fund and ATA to help Qure4u achieve their journey of improving patient outcomes at lower cost.”
Monica Bolbjerg added, “Not only did the NWA team quickly learn our business, but NWA member Rick Toren, who has successfully launched similar products to the medical market will join our board. Even before closing their investment, Rick has jumped in to work with Torsten and me to help us gain momentum.”
Qure4u is the fifth investment for New World Angels in 2018, bring total 2018 investment to $3.3MM. In January, NWA invested $1,325,000 in a $10 Million Series B financing round for Miami and Rhode Island based Clarke Industrial Engineering Inc., after leading Clarke’s Series A rounds. In February, NWA invested $360,000 into Boca Raton Raw Shorts and $557,500 into Gainesville and based OB Medical.
