New World Angels Invests $575,000 into Sniffer Robotics

BOCA RATON, FL (May 31, 2023) – New World Angels (NWA), Florida’s premier structured angel investment group, announced today that it completed a $575,000 investment into Sniffer Robotics, Inc., as part of a $2 million series seed round led by the Michigan Angel Fund. NWA’s investment completed the round and NWA is now the largest outside investor in Sniffer Robotics.

Sniffer Robotics has a patented, drone-based solution to detect methane leak sources at ground level. Sniffer’s unmanned aerial system, the SnifferDRONE™, is a comprehensive system to automate the current hazardous and labor-intensive emission monitoring method where technicians walk miles to manually inspect landfills, natural gas pipelines, and similar sites and facilities. In December 2022, the US EPA recognized the benefits of Sniffer’s technology with the first and only approval of their automated tool for compliance with surface emissions monitoring requirements. Sniffer’s system is used by sites throughout the United States to more accurately account for methane leaks, enhance gas collection and reduce odors, for a triple benefit - operations, community and the environment.

The Sniffer transaction marks NWA’s first investment since the formation of a new industrial and manufacturing vertical co-led by NWA members Chris Groobey and Don Pucci. NWA’s new investment focus complements existing groups focusing on medical, technology and consumer investments and recognizes the growth in investment opportunities arising from Florida’s growing Space Coast, defense, energy and infrastructure economies.

Ron Tarro, President of NWA, commented “We are excited to add Sniffer Robotics to our portfolio, especially as it marks the first of hopefully many investments NWA will make in this new area of focus for our organization. We will continue to look for investment opportunities that allow NWA to leverage its deep well of member experience and talent to assess investments and guide our portfolio founders toward growth.”

Sniffer Robotics CEO Arthur Mohr Jr. noted, “It was a pleasure to work with the NWA team, especially as they brought relevant experience to bear and leveraged their network to enable us to complete our board of directors. We are delighted that Chris Groobey will join our board as an observer and share his experience as we continue to grow our company domestically and abroad for the benefit of all of our stakeholders.”
